It was nice to see Alex Higgins in action in an era when he did play well and did not abuse referees, me included, for his mistakes. He is entitled to play in World Seniors but players who are playing in World Championship like Ken Doherty, Steve Davis or Peter Ebdon are surely far from retirement. They should sit back and reflect on when they will compete. There is no glory in beating old players like Terry Griffiths, David Taylor or Mike Hallett not to mention Alex Higgins. Should Denis Taylor win this first Seniors he will be showing it in 2020 when he is ninety years and doting even more than he is at present. Eighteen million watched the 85 Final. 17.9 Million were devasted at the result. Makes you think of Steve's seventh Title down the plughole to a second rater like Taylor who won nothing of value since.

while Barry Hearn is a household name in sport, and the chances that he will turn around a failing snooker is good, it would be madness to hand him a controlling interest in the game, at the end of the day, he is not doing this to wear his old clothes out, his motive is money.
my dissappointment is in the likes of Ronnie Osullivan, when he gives the sport that has given him so much, the respect it deserves, things might get better.

In some ways he has a point. Although he seems a minority amongst the other players and snooker needs a kick up the arse right now

Snooker in Brazil and Poland? I really don’t know what Walker’s playing at here… He’s had so much time to figure something out and this is what he comes up with just a week before the vote. It’s an absolute non-starter.
